On Feb. 11, Beyoncé partnered with Verizon to run a commercial during the 58th Super Bowl. The commercial featured Beyoncé trying to “break the internet” while showing various impressive events.
With the soundbite at the end of the commercial, fans watching the game ran to Apple Music, Spotify, and YouTube to stream the new music. Beyoncé released two new singles titled “16 CARRIAGES” and “TEXAS HOLD ‘EM.”
The singles, however, are much different than the music she has released in the past. She has turned to a new music genre that was unexpected. The two singles she released were country and included country instrumentals while keeping her iconic voice we all know and love the same.
One of the singles she released, “16 CARRIAGES,” has multiple genres mixed into one song. The song has country instruments while also having a mix of R&B and folk while using her soulful voice while also rapping a little in the song. With all of the genres mixing, people might believe the song would be too much, however, everything mixes and sounds just right.
The production and the creativity used in the song showcase the undeniable talent Beyoncé holds. The way Beyoncé experiments with music help show the various things she is capable of putting together as an artist.
The other single that was released is titled “TEXAS HOLD ‘EM” and is a more upbeat song that includes more country instrumentals as she sings about some of the topics country singers typically sing about.
The song “TEXAS HOLD ‘EM” is a song that will make listeners want to dance and is a happy and fast-paced song that will easily get stuck in your head.
These songs have continued to show the range Beyoncé has with her voice. The talent she holds to sing in various genres of music while pulling them all off is something not every artist is capable of doing.
Although the fact Beyoncé is beginning to experiment with country music may come as a shock to some, fans know that her desire to work with country music is probably rooted in growing up in Texas and being around more country culture.
Not only did she release the two new singles, but she also posted on Instagram a teaser for an album that will be released on March 29, 2024 titled “Act II.” With this, she received over 84,000 comments on the Instagram post, including many from fans looking forward to the album’s release.
The album is expected to be a fully country album of Beyoncé experimenting with the different genres she is capable of performing. Because of the different genres Beyoncé is approaching, fans will be tuned in for new and unique music to come.
